Stylesheet.css

A standards-compliant CSS framework built around semantic HTML, an intuitive layout system and a minimal set of classes, with pure CSS doing all the work.

The stylesheet.org home page

About

Write a normal page and it looks right; reach for a class only where HTML has no element for the job. Instead of a wall of utility classes on every element, a panel with a title and a Save button is a row panel, a heading, a stretch and a bare <button>.

A single theme layer of design tokens keeps the look consistent across a whole site, and swapping that layer re-themes everything at once. This site is built on it.

Features

Standards compliant and accessible

Semantic elements and proper landmarks, equally readable to browsers and screen readers.

Intuitive layout

Rows, columns, grids and flow, spaced by the container, with a single stretch for the rest.

Minimal classes

Everything else is a bare tag, which makes for much smaller downloads.

Design system friendly

Because elements are never styled one by one, the look is specified in one place and stays consistent.
