Spring is in the air!

Finally I’ve gotten around to updating Lewpen.com. My business-related stuff has moved over to cubelogix.co.uk and this is all for personal enjoyment, baby!

I’m experimenting with a new publishing platform, which is based on using the filesystem directly. Blog posts are just text files, topics are just folders, galleries are just folders full of images, and so on. There’s some simple folder meta-data to control how a folder is displayed, and I’ll be adding viewers for a variety of filetypes (Word docs spring to mind as the most useful for a content-management tool) — but the great thing is that for the most part I can carry on typing and saving as I always have done, using all the powerful tools I am used to, and not being limited by any web-based editing systems.

Add a bit of Lewpen’s techno-techno sauce and the folder structure magically becomes the active website you are reading now.

I’ll start publishing details as the bundle of hacks slowly becomes something organised and re-usable. :)
